Wayne Rooney wins goal of the month for stunning strike in his own half aganist West-Ham

Wayne Rooney has been awarded the Premier League Goal of the Month trophy for his wonderful strike for Everton against West Ham.

The ex England captain finished November in stunning style, scoring a hat-trick against West Ham at Goodison Park and also producing a wonder strike from his own half.

Rolling back the years since, scoring against Newcastle in mid-week and in the Merseyside derby last weekend.

The strike came against West-Ham due to poor clearance from West-Ham goalkeeper Joe Hart, who was rushing out of his net to knock the ball away.

It fell on to the feet of Rooney, who fired it towards the net with his right boot.

There was a serious attempt from defender Angelo Ogbonna to reach the ball, but it flew over his head and landed in the back of the net in front of the Gladys Street end stand.

‘It’s one of the best – goal I’ve ever scored,’ he told Everton’s official website after the game. ‘I think I hit it as well as I’ve always kicked a ball.

Everton no 2  Craig Shakespeare commented on the goal and star player saying ” I am happy with Wayne Rooney’s form”.

‘To score the winner, being in the right place at the right time last night, obviously he is in a good form but the team as well is also performing well.’
