LA Galaxy fans gives Zlatan Ibrahimovic hero welcome as he touches down in Los Angeles

LA Galaxy fans gives Zlatan Ibrahimovic hero welcome as he touches down in Los Angeles.
The Swedish star landed at Los Angeles International Airport late on Thursday evening to begin his contract with the club, having signed from Manchester United last week.

After touching down, Ibrahimovic was taken in a black SUV to meet the supporters who were waiting outside the airport all night to greet him on his arrival.

The 36-year-old appeared overwhelmed with the reception he got when stepping out the car and took time out to speak with fans, pose for pictures and sign autographs.

After spending some time soaking up the atmosphere and meeting his new fans, Ibrahimovic got back in the car and left the airport.

He signed for the club on a free transfer after United agreed to terminate his contract three months early. He could make his MLS debut in the first LA derby this Saturday against Los Angeles FC – the club partly owned by actor Will Ferrell and former USA coach Bob Bradley.

Ibrahimovic, who has enjoyed an illustrious career representing Ajax, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Barcelona, Juventus and PSG, bid farewell to his United team-mates on Wednesday and is now ready to begin his new chapter.

The veteran Swedish striker also signed some autographs after his hero’s welcome

According to Marca, the veteran Swedish striker ‘took a 95 per cent pay cut’ to join the MLS club from United.

He was earning a huge £19million-a-year at Old Trafford, but has signed up to play for the Galaxy on a pay packet of just £850,000-per-annum.

That means he is only taking home £16,000-a-week, a huge drop from his giant £350,000-a-week wages at United.
