Manchester City crown champions after United defeat to West Brom at Old Trafford.
Darren Moore’s strugglers, who remain bottom of the table and nine points away from safety, won at Old Trafford on Sunday thanks to Jay Rodriguez’s second-half header.
The result means United can no longer catch Pep Guardiola’s side, who put themselves on the brink of glory with victory over Tottenham on Saturday evening.
Towards the end of the Old Trafford clash, Manchester City posted a video showing club captain Vincent Kompany celebrating the victory.
The Belgium defender could be seen singing ‘Championes, championes,’ while club tweeted: ‘Our Time. Our City. Premier League Champions 17/18’.
In the live video, Kompany also FaceTimed team-mate Kevin De Bruyne, who has been instrumental in their dominant domestic season.
Kompany said: ‘I’ve got Kyle (Walker) on one phone and Kevin on the other!
‘What we posting now to the City nation? The WhatsApp group is going crazy, I just need to send a little tweet then get on with the rest of the night.
‘Well done to all of you (staff). You can’t make it up. You could have another 10 years and not have another moment like this.’
‘It shows how football is in Manchester,’ Kompany said later on Sky Sports. ‘There have been a lot more good days for the Red side but today it is for the Blue.’
Their manager, meanwhile, said on Saturday he would not watch United’s game with West Brom, preferring instead to enjoy a game of golf.
It did not take long, however, for City’s stars to take to social media to express their delight upon being crowned champions of England’s top flight.
Walker tweeted a gif of Forrest Gump running and claimed it would be a relatively close likeness to how quickly he would be making his way to fellow defender Benjamin Mendy’s house to pick him up for the celebratory party.
Mendy, a popular member of this City side despite being injured for the majority of the campaign, replied to reveal his excitement.
