Rob Green has completed his free transfer to Chelsea.
The 38-year-old becomes the second addition to the squad this summer, where he will provide competition as the third-choice goalkeeper.
Green was released by Huddersfield at the end of last season and has signed a short-term contract at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea bid to boost their homegrown quota.
He told the club website: ‘It has been a whirlwind 24 hours. You are thinking about your career and where you want to go and then you get a phone call like this, and it is a short conversation.
‘It has been a pretty dramatic time for me and I can’t wait to get started. I am absolutely delighted and it is a thrill and an honour to be here.’
Green brings with him a wealth of experience, having played 658 games at Premier League and Championship level.
Willy Caballero is the second choice and Chelsea are discussing candidates for their No 1 role as they determine whether to sell Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid.
