Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is free to be on the touchline against Chelsea on Saturday after he was granted an extension to his FA charge.
The new deadline for Mourinho to respond is on Wednesday next week at 6pm.
Mourinho was charged by the FA for allegedly using abusive language after United’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle before the international break.
Mourinho is alleged to have said: ‘f*** off sons of b*****s’ at a TV camera after United secured a dramatic comeback win against Newcastle at Old Trafford. He was initially given until Friday to answer the charge.
Asked at his press conference if he felt he was being victimised, Mourinho said: ‘I don’t comment.
‘If I answer to your question I probably have another process because I cannot imply bias so my answer is no answer.’
There has been much speculation regarding Mourinho’s future of late, with United having gone four games without a win in all competitions prior to beating Newcastle.
Mourinho will hope that United can overcome Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as they seek to gain further momentum.
