Georginio Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay were on the scoresheet as Holland overcame France 2-0 on Friday night to relegate Germany from the tough Nations League group.
Holland started on the front foot and were rewarded on the stroke of half time after the Liverpool midfielder tapped home from close range following Ryan Babel’s saved effort.
The hosts pressed for a second in the last 45 and got it in injury time thanks to a Panenka penalty from Depay past Hugo Lloris.
Holland’s victory has ensured Germany’s relegation from the UEFA Nations League group before the two teams play each other on Monday.
Meanwhile, Holland are now in a very strong position to win their group. The win has moved Ronald Koeman’s side to within a point of France with a game still to play.
