Arsenal youngster Xavier Amaechi is reportedly a target for German giants Bayern Munich.
The 18-year-old winger has caught the eye of the German champions, according to football.london, and he could be the latest in a long line of English academy products to make the switch to Europe.
Arsenal prospect Amaechi is held in high regard at the Gunners academy and his current contract runs until 2022.
He started Monday night’s 2-2 Premier League 2 draw with Swansea City and currently has five assists and three goals in his nine appearances for Arsenal’s second team.
That is despite picking up a metatarsal injury earlier in the campaign and returning to action only last month.
Amaechi is a winger whose ability to use both feet makes him a threat on either flank, while he is also blessed with searing pace.
He was voted in the team of the tournament for last summer’s Under-17 European Championship and received an England Under-18 call-up in September.
The report suggests Bayern have switched the attention from Chelsea prodigy Callum Hudson-Odoi, who they tried and failed to sign in January.
Hudson-Odoi is seen as a player who could have made a more immediate impact than Amaechi, but Niko Kovac’s side see Amaechi as having potential similar to Jadon Sancho.
German clubs are descending on English academies following the success of the Borussia Dortmund star Sancho.
