Mesut Ozil has left Arsenal for Fenerbahce, ending an eight-season relationship with the North London club that brought joy and disappointment.
He was left out of Mikel Arteta’s squad for the initial part of the campaign, the 32-year-old attacking midfielder and Arsenal went to mutual agreement by ending his deal six months early.
Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta pays tribute to the outgoing star says: Mesut Ozil will always have a “big history” at Arsenal and that his quality will be missed at the club.
Before joining the Turkish outfit says it’s a dream come true.
“I grew up as a Fenerbahce fan as a kid in Germany – every German-Turkish person supports a Turkish team when they grow up in Germany.
“And mine was Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce is like Real Madrid in Spain. The biggest club in my country.”

The contract includes a sign-on bonus of about €5million (£4.45million) with his yearly wage around €4million.
Merged with the cash he will get from Arsenal, that implies in short term the former Germany star will earn more than previously.
Ozil, who arrived at Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013, scored 44 goals and registered 77 assists in 254 appearances for the club.
