Liverpool take a big step closer to a top-four finish with a 3-0 win over Burnley.
Firmino opened the scoring just before the break when he slotted Robertson’s cross past Norris.
Phillips scored his first goal for Liverpool to double the lead when he thumped a header into the back of the net before clearing Mee’s effort off the line at the other end.
Oxlade-Chamberlain then came off the bench to wrap it up late on after he twisted and turned to beat Norris at his near post with a minute.
So, yes, Liverpool are almost there. It has not been the title defence anyone expected but a place in the Champions League next season would mean that it will no longer be classed as a disaster, merely very disappointing
Liverpool move above Leicester into fourth with that win and keep their Champions League hopes in their own hands.
They finish their season against Crystal Palace at home. As for Burnley, they drop to 17th after making it 10 without a win at home. Their last game of the campaign is at Sheffield United.
