Everton 1-0 Arsenal: Phil Jagielka goal dents Arsenal chances of securing top-four

Arsenal’s chances of securing top four and Champions League football next season looks tight as Everton deservedly grabbed all three points at Goodison Park.

Phil Jagielka, who came in as a late replacement for the fragile Michael Keane, scored in from a close-range to give Everton a lead in the 10th minute.

Unai Emery’s men looked brighter in the second half but it was the hosts who created the best chances. Bernard and Richarlison were both guilty of spurning guilt-edge opportunities but it didn’t matter as Everton held on for victory.
