FLOYD MAYWEATHER ATTENDS LA-LAKER GAME AS KOBE BYRANT RETIRES

Floyd Mayweather was part of a star-studded crowd who flocked to the Staples Center to see Kobe Bryant’s two jerseys retired.

Bryant’s incredible career was celebrated at the Los Angeles Lakers home during the Western Conference he franchise his retired No 8 and 24 jerseys.

The NBA legend, who was a member squad of the Lakers’ for 20 seasons, began his career in the No 8 jersey before switching over to 24 in the 2006-2007 campaign.

He said: ‘I feel great, I’m very proud to be here with my family. It feels good as a father to have my family be here with me and share  this experience together as one unit.

‘It’s not about the jerseys that are hanging up there for me. It’s about the jerseys that were hanging up there before. They inspired me to play the game at a high level to my very last.’

Bryant won five championship titles during his 20 years on the west coast with his club LA Lakers.

The former shooting guard decided to quit the game in 2016 after an outstanding career in his famous purple and gold jersey.

Previous boxer Mayweather was not the only celebrity to watch Bryant receive yet another outstanding reception from the Staples Center crowd.

Comedian Kevin Hart also made an cameo with his wife Eniko Parrish while Ice Cube, Shaquille O’Neal and Jack Nicholson were also one the stars in attendance.

Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant stole some of Bryant’s thunder storm as the former Oklahoma City Thunder forward scored 36 points and hit a tie-breaking 22-foot jumper with 7.3 seconds left in overtime.

The Lakers day of celebration ended in misery as the Warriors ended up winning 116-114.
