Luis Enrique has left his role as head coach of Spain with his assistant Robert Moreno set to take over.
Moreno has managed the Spanish national team for the last three games with Enrique having been absent due to a family matter.
Enrique had been in charge of Spain for just under a year after taking over ahead of last year’s World Cup in Russia.
At a press conference on Wednesday, president of the Spanish FA, Luis Rubiales, confirmed Enrique’s departure.
He said: ‘Luis Enrique is not going to continue as coach.’
Rubiales confirmed Moreno’s appointment, adding: ‘Robert as coach will have the same length of contract that was signed before. He will be in charge of taking us to and making a good showing at Euro 2020.’
